Personal trainer's gruelling challenge for mental health awareness
27th October 2020
Gabriel Beckett, 31, runs the Colchester Bootcamp, at which he pushes other people to their limits for the benefit of both their physical and mental wellbeing.
But, throughout the month of September, Mr Beckett decided to instead set himself four different blood-pumping tests in a bid to raise £1,000 for the Samaritans.

Fitness fans build their physical and mental strength at charity bootcamp

Colchester Bootcamp hosted its third fundraiser at Abbey Field. Dozens of people tested their physical strength in order to help people with their mental strength.
The event was held to raise money to support those struggling with their depression. The bootcamp had five instructors on hand to lead stations dedicated to different workouts.

Colchester Bootcamp held its second charity event at Abbey Field. This time more than 60 people squatted, lifted, and stretched to raise money and awareness for the Samaritans and mental health charity Mind. Gabriel Beckett, who runs the Bootcamp, said: “It was all about raising awareness of mental health and the charities which help people. We wanted the message to be about people knowing they can reach out and they are not alone.
